There is a sense of wonder whenever I bring the camera’s viewfinder up to my eye. Everything around me is reduced to a tiny rectangle surrounded by black and like magic, the busy world falls silent.
While I use digital equipment for more service type projects, and I love to create digital montage images, the majority of my personal work is film based. I think, see and react differently when I am using film. The physical act of loading the camera, even the smell of the film, are aspects of film bases photography that help me to get into a deeper, more contemplative space. I love to work with vintage and toy cameras, and to explore alternative processes. It helps to keep a sense of adventure alive and well. As long as there is light, I will chase it.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed creating it!
