This work is shot using a 35mm camera and black and white film. I wandered around my village and peered into windows of empty houses or building, houses whose owners live elsewhere and public buildings – anywhere I could get a reflection without going to jail.
In the images, one can see a blend of the objects inside the building, the reflection of the landscape on the surface of the glass, and often there is a window within the room and giving us another layer of landscape and depth.
The images were shot at an angle to the window so as not to get my own reflection in the image, and then the film was scanned and the angle was removed in Photoshop so that the windows would be viewed from straight on.
I love the confusion, and I am very happy with the way the work turned out. So, no Photoshop layers, just layers of light and reflections.
